Scovia participates in TLAfrica’s Women Empowerment Program. Scovia lives in the rural parts of Bungoma, Kenya. She received a cow from TLAfrica to help support her family through farming and agriculture. The cow provides milk for her family and to sell, while also providing much needed manure for her crops. Like many in the region, her produce stand is in her front yard where she can remain with her 4 children and help care for her home while also operating her small produce business.
All of the women in the area who participate in the Women Empowerment Program have also joined together through weekly bible studies and support groups. Together they learn scripture, edify one another, and have formed a strong fellowship as female leaders in their communities.
