On Saturday, May 11, 2024, the Kenyan office of Transformational Leadership in Africa (TLAfrica) organized a fellowship that brought together 20 people including board members, staff, and friends. The two-hour event focused on sharing about TLAfrica’s Thousand Hills International University (THIU) in Musanze, Rwanda.

The Chair of the board, Mrs. Martha Muraya, opened the fellowship with a warm welcome and gratitude, highlighting the importance of the gathering. Reverend Joseph Kamau shared an inspiring message from Psalms 36, focusing on the faithfulness of God. He emphasized that God’s faithfulness endures regardless of our circumstances, offering encouragement and a reminder of divine support.

Prof. Faustin Ntamushobora (CEO and Founder) then shared an in-depth overview of TLAfrica’s mission, vision, and philosophy. He detailed the organization’s current activities and their impact on transformative change in Africa. The highlight of his presentation was the story of THIU, from the inception of the dream to establish the university, through the foundation laying and construction process, to the current status of the project.

Prof. Faustin passionately called on the participants to support THIU, particularly in furnishing the university and establishing a library. He emphasized the critical need for book donations to create a well-equipped library that would benefit the students and the broader community.

The response to his call for support was overwhelmingly positive. Ten attendees pledged to donate books, while others committed to seeking donations from their networks. Two participants volunteered to serve as drop-off points for donated books. Additionally, several attendees expressed interest in contributing furniture and requested more information on how to do so.

The fellowship concluded on a high note, with a sense of shared purpose and commitment to the vision of THIU. The collective enthusiasm and willingness to contribute highlighted the strong community support for TLAfrica’s mission to foster transformational leadership in Africa.
